Chogha Zanbil and Band-e Kaisar

On your second day in Iran, you will explore the Chogha Zanbil ziggurat, built around 1250 BC by the king Untash-Napirisha, to honor the god Inshushinak. It is one of the few existent ziggurats outside of Mesopotamia.

After that you will travel close-by, to Shushtar, to see the beautiful irrigation canals and the Band-e Kaisar (Caesar's dam), that were built by the Romans around 260−270 AD.

Bisotun Inscription

On your first day in Iran, you will discover the Bisotun inscription, which was crucial to the decipherment of cuneiform script. The inscription was authored by Darius the Great, sometime during his reign, from 522 BC to 486 BC.
